Abingdon, IL Hauntings

Abingdon Middle School:

There have been stories of a teacher who hung herself because her kid fell down the stairs on a tricycle. People have heard screaming and yelling and squealing of the tricycle tires. There have been sightings of the woman and child together again. Supposedly, there has been blood stains found on the walls of every room and above the steps and on the steps of were she hung herself and the child fell down the stairs. The story was told back in the 70s about the child falling down the steps with the tricycle and the mom hanging herself. There is a walk area that runs along the sides of the gym up high and that's where the child road her tricycle back and forth with the metal pipe rails keeping a person from falling.

Okay, why was the child riding her bicycle there? Just curious.

Any hoo...my husband heard that the middle school has been closed and someone bought the building to turn it into offices. I'll have to find out if this is true. 

Update October 2008: the middle school was bought by someone so it will be interesting to see if anyone there experiences anything and will actually tell someone about it!
